The Big Difference Between Rose Water and Rose Hydrosol
Posted on December 28 2019
Rose is an amazing beauty agent used for thousands of years and is known for its skin hydrating and regenerating benefits. Rose essential oil is one of the most expensive essential oils on earth taking approximately 8,000 pounds of petals to produce one pound of oil.
Most of us have heard of rose water but aren’t sure what it is. Often rose water that is sold for beauty purposes is an infusion, meaning the rose petals are dried and then steeped in water; other times the water has simply been infused with a few drops of rose essential oil and then mixed with an emulsifier (often PEG based).
What makes rose hydrosol different is that it is a true rose water. Rose Hydrosol is the co-product of the distillation of rose essential oil and is made with those same-day, fresh-picked fresh rose petals. It contains the essence of the plant in every drop.
At Calli Essential we use both Rose Otto and Rose Absolute hydrosols in our facial creams and moisturizers as well as in our signature hydrosol blends Cell Renew and Regenerate. This amazing hydrosol benefits every skin type with its ability to soothe and hydrate, reduce redness, improve circulation and the appearance of fine lines.
