Do you know what one of the best, most effective ways to cleanse your face, remove makeup, soothe sensitive skin, and tame unrelenting breakouts? Have you heard of the oil cleansing method? Or perhaps you have heard of the Korean cleansing oil method. But what is all this?
The oil cleansing method often referred to as OCM goes back to ancient times when soap was not yet used. Modern soap production did not start until the 19th century and people throughout the ages have used oil to cleanse their skin. So how the heck does that work?
In short, when you massage cleansing oils into the skin those oils bind to surface impurities and topical products such as makeup, pulling the dirt out without clogging your pores, and leaving your skin soft, hydrated and most of all clean.
Sometimes, like with the Korean method, the oil cleanse is followed by a foaming cleanse or in the Japanese method with a milk cleanser.
However, if you are using light and balanced oils that don’t clog the pores and deposit nutrients and anti-aging / anti-acne benefits to the skin, a second step is not necessary.
Take a close look at some of the more popular cleansing oils out there such as Neutrogena, DHC, or some of the many Korean brands, and you will notice much of the ingredients are anything but natural. Now look at Calli Essentials cleansing oils - you will see nothing but 100% pure plant-based ingredients rich in vitamins and antioxidants that will leave your skin glowing. Your skin will feel softer AND smoother.
Here is our recommendation for the method:
💦 Start by laying a warm-to-hot washcloth over your face for 30 seconds.
💦 Use approximately a quarter size amount of oils in the palm of your hand and rub over entire face with your fingertips in upward circular motions.
💦 Massage into your face for at least one minute if your short on time, but two minutes is better. If you have acne or other concerns, be sure to concentrate on those areas.
💦 Once your face is covered in the oil, rinse a washcloth in very warm water and hold over your face for 30 seconds, then remove the oil.
