U.S. Shipping & Tariffs – What You Need to Know
Recent changes to U.S. import rules (August 29, 2025) lowered the tariff-free threshold for international shipments. Here’s what this means for Canadian skincare orders shipped to the U.S. and how Calli Essentials keeps your shopping experience transparent and worry-free.
Most Calli Essentials Products Remain Tariff-Free
As the origin manufacturer in Canada, we are fully compliant with the CUSMA (Canada–U.S.–Mexico Agreement). This means the majority of our skincare products ship to the U.S. without any tariffs or duties.
The $100 USD Tariff Threshold for Non-CUSMA Products
As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. de minimis exemption was lowered from $800 USD to $100 USD.
-
Orders valued at $100 USD or less (≈ $138 CAD, based on current exchange rates) can enter tariff-free.
-
Orders above this threshold may be subject to duties unless they qualify under CUSMA.
Exceptions – Single Oils & Hydrosols
Some single-ingredient products, such as rosehip oil, cucumber seed oil, or green myrtle hydrosol, may not qualify under CUSMA if their origin is France, Italy, or India. These products may carry tariffs, generally in the 0–15% range, depending on U.S. import classifications. Each affected item is clearly marked on its product page.
Customer Savings Still Apply
-
Because we price in Canadian dollars, U.S. customers typically enjoy 30%+ savings on every order.
-
Orders of $125 CAD or more qualify for free shipping.
-
Even with exceptions, if your order is under $100 USD, it remains tariff-free.
