The Benefits of Rose Oil and Rose Water

Perhaps no essential oil is better known than rose. Like most oils and herbs it has been around since antiquity. Bathing with rose water and producing rose oil dates back thousands of years in India, Rome, and Greece. The historical evidence of the use of rose oil and water is vast although perhaps most talked about for its use in the perfume trade. There are two predominant types of roses grown for the purpose of oil and water production and they are Rosa Damascena, which has the most heavenly smell and is produced predominately in Bulgaria, Turkey, Syria, and India. The other is Rosa Centifolia which is grown most often in France, Egypt and Morocco. Rose is good for every single skin type. It has powerful cell regenerating and moisturizing properties. However, rose oil is very labor intensive to produce. The flowers must be picked by hand in the morning before sunrise. It takes  approximately 1,600,000 rose petals to produce 1 kilogram of rose oil making it one of the most expensive oils on earth costing upwards of $900.00 an ounce (which is why it is used predominately in the perfume industry). Rosewater which is the amazing co-product of essential oil production has all of the same amazing skin benefits of the oil. We love this water for its ability to plump and moisturize the skin while soothing and healing dry inflamed skin and promoting a more even skin tone. It is fantastic for sensitive skin, and can aid in healing rosacea, psoriasis, and eczema. As with all of our waters and oils our rose is produced with out the use of chemicals or pesticides.  Here are a few of the products we produce with rose water: Defy and Repair Overnight Moisturizer Signature Blend Hydrosol: Cell Renewal German Chamomile Hydrosol Rose Hydrosol Vibrance Anti-aging Rehydrating Cream
